Community Ministries
First Christian Church serves 12,000 + meals yearly
Community Breakfast
Every Sunday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, we are offering a hot protein based meal for those in need, as well as those of the congregation who would like to come early to meet and greet new people.
Picnic on the Lawn
Twice a year we serve lunch on the east lawn. It's another way to build community and move beyond the physical walls of the church.
Clothing Closet
On Sunday morning and Wednesday evening the First Christian Church Clothing Closet is available for those in need of clothing.
Agape Meal and Study
Every Wednesday we gather for a meal, songs, and study. The radically inclusive meal begins at 6 pm and you are not required to stay for the study. All are welcome!
Kid’s Tote Bags & Quilts of Love
Volunteers make blankets, tote bags, and stuffed animals available for children going through the services of DHS.
Community Health Clinic
The first Wednesday of each month (5 pm) nurses are available to check blood pressure, blood sugar levels, blood glucose, and answer basic health questions.
Hungry Hearts
Hungry Hearts, a non-profit, utilizes our building to provide lunch twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Their mission is to restore hope and share the love of God and work to battle hunger, feed the homeless, and provide a meal for community members in need.
Family Promise of Lawton
First Christian Church hosts homeless families once a quarter by providing an evening meal, fellowship, and a place to sleep. The staff of Family Promise works with families to secure employment, housing, and stable living conditions.
String Ministry
David Titus, a member of First Christian Church, is known as the "String Man" and tells stories of grace and love using string. Click the file to the right to read about his ministry.
