ODW/CWF PRAYER
Unto you, O God, we give our thanks and lift our hearts in prayer.
May your presence be with us and your love surround us as we work together as women of faith.
Open our eyes to the needs of the world and fill our hearts with concern for all people.
Guide us that we may truly serve you, Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. AMEN
ODW/CWF BENEDICTION
God be merciful unto us, and bless us;
and cause your face to shine upon us;
that your way may be known upon the earth,
your saving health among all nations.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. AMEN
DISCIPLES WOMEN/CWF SCRIPTURE
“We declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:3)
The purpose of Church Women United is to encourage church women to come together in a visible fellowship to witness to their faith in Jesus Christ as divine Lord and Savior and, enabled by His Spirit, to go out together into every neighborhood and nation as instruments of his reconciling love.
INTERNATIONAL DISCIPLES WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
The International Disciples Women's Ministries, organized in 1953, provides a channel by which all women of the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) in Canada and the United States may be joined in fellowship and in making their contributions to the extension of the Kingdom of God.
GLOBAL WOMEN CONNECTING
The World Christian Women’s Fellowship was organized in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1955. Meetings are held every five years and projects include the birthday celebration, the World XWF Newsletter, and the nine o’clock prayer time. The executive committee is made up of representatives of twenty counties.
The Least Coin Offering
THE TOKEN OF PARTICIPATION is a 'least coin' set aside by the individual as prayer is offered. The “least coins” are contributed annually to a common fund which is given in the name of Christian women without identification of its original source. This fund is used for ministries of mercy on every continent and for experiences which create Christian community among those of different national, racial, cultural, economic and religious backgrounds.
BLESSING BOXES
Blessing Boxes began in 1953 for over and above giving to Basic Mission Finance, now called Disciple Mission Fund. They help us focus on gratitude to God and our responsibility to share our blessings. They teach us to walk in the footsteps of those who gathered eggs, churned butter, quilted, and milked cows to send their offering for the Glory of God and his work on earth.
